Scottsdale, Carefree and Cave Creek are within driving distance to Sedona, the Grand Canyon, Wickenburg, Flagstaff, Tucson, and other interesting cities and towns in Arizona. They are just not as significant in one direction or the other as one would find in other states in the United States. A very nice surprise for us was to find that there really are four seasons within North Scottsdale, Carefree and Cave Creek. The areas of North Scottsdale, Carefree and Cave Creek, an old mining town, are centrally located and provide opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy a wide variety of sports and entertainment either within the immediate areas or within a few hours driving towards Flagstaff in the north or Tucson in the south.įor example, North Scottsdale, Carefree, and Cave Creek areas are famous for the Sonoran Desert scenery which is filled with magnificent Saguaros, striking mountain vistas which sometimes are capped in snow, boating, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, skiing in the Flagstaff or Tucson areas, biking, hiking trails, tennis courts, golf courses (private and public), baseball spring training, museums, parks, shopping and dining areas, special events at West World in Scottsdale and in old-Western saloons in Cave Creek, the Cave Creek School system, private schools as well as nearby universities and colleges and world-class resort hotels and spas.
